Founding

A shared dream in Greater Milwaukee.

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple began as a shared dream among devotees in the Greater Milwaukee area, founded by Krish and Jayashree Narayanan: a loving home for Lord Narasimha, the fierce and tender protector, together with Goddess Lakshmi.

The temple was founded in October 2013, incorporated in Wisconsin, and received 501(c)(3) tax exemption from the IRS, tax ID # 46-3932976.

We could not have gotten here alone. Sri Veeravalli Raghunathan of North Carolina was instrumental in our early days, helping file the incorporation paperwork with the state and the IRS, setting up our website and PayPal donations, and raising seed money through his own network. That early support gave us the foundation to build from.

Faith, worship, and a wider home.

Our mission is to preserve and share the Srivaishnava philosophy of Bhagawad Ramanujacharya and Swami Vedantha Desika, celebrating the Azhwars, the Acharyas, and Lord Sriman Narayana all year long, while serving as a home for the wider richness of Indian culture, tradition, language, music, and community life.

Consecration

Opened in its full glory.

In June 2026, devotees from across the country gathered for our grand Samprokshanam, the consecration that opened the temple in its full glory.

Today the main shrine houses Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, with shrines for Goddess Mahalakshmi, Goddess Andal, Lord Sudarsana, Lord Garuda, and Lord Anjaneya.

Supporting the temple

A congregation that sustains its home.

SLNT has been free to visit since our founding in 2013, as we worked to reach the community at large. Since then, Jayashree and Krish Narayanan, as sole trustees, have committed all their personal resources to building the temple from the ground up. With the construction of the new Prakhara now complete, the total investment has crossed $2.5 million.

To help repay this debt and sustain ongoing maintenance and operations, gifts of $500 for an individual or $2,000 for a family of four would benefit the temple greatly.

SLNT operates on the concept of congregation: a community of people who gather regularly for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. We hope you'll consider becoming part of ours.
